Round out your bear awareness, confidence, and adventure readiness with this interactive, hands-on course. Bear Safety Foundations is an encouraged pre-course but not required.
This course covers:
– Range safety and course outline
– State law and regulations regarding firearms for bear defense
– Basic Ballistics – what makes a gun a “bear gun”
– Building a shooter’s platform that’s both effective and supportive to bear defense
– Hands-on experience with a variety of bear guns – Pistols, Revolvers, and Shotguns in a variety of calibers, gauges, configurations, and sizes
– Basic bear gun function and accuracy
– Holsters, slings, and practical carry options
– State law regarding Defense of Life and Property, reporting requirements
Total Course Length: 4 hours – course cost does not include ammo which is invoiced per rounds fired after training
Required Equipment/Gear:

Personal firearms are encouraged but not required.
Shoot up to 6 common “Bear Guns” in different calibers and configurations or train on a gun from your context.
If you’re bringing a gun of your own, don’t forget the sling, magazines, speed loaders, holsters, ammo, and any other associated accessories!
