Personal Safety and Self Defense
Self defense classes give you more than techniques. They give you options. Our self defense classes focus on awareness, mindset, and practical skills you can actually use in real life. You learn how to spot danger earlier, set clear boundaries, and choose responses that help you get to safety. These are not fantasy courses. We design them for people who live real lives in Alaska, walk through parking lots at night, travel, work, and run errands with kids in tow.
First, we teach you how to think about personal safety before you ever need to act. You begin to see patterns, not just single scary moments. Then you add simple tools and techniques that fit your context. As you layer skills and equipment, you build a safety plan that supports your normal routines instead of disrupting them. We also offer our self defense classes in Ladies Only formats for students who prefer that environment.
Self Defense Classes Overview
Alternative Defense is a 3 hour less-lethal self defense course. You learn verbal defense commands, basic physical defense techniques, and how to create strong defensive platforms. You also see live demos with inert pepper spray and stun gun or TASER style tools. Instructors introduce striking devices, light and visual impairment techniques, and attention attracting alarms. You leave with a clearer idea of how to layer less lethal tools into your personal safety plan.
NRA Refuse To Be A Victim is a certified 4 hour personal safety seminar taught over two evenings. It is a national NRA program used by law enforcement and community groups across the country. In this course you build a personal safety strategy for home, work, travel, and online life. You learn practical crime prevention tips, awareness skills, and time tested techniques to avoid becoming a target. Together, these two self defense classes give you a strong foundation in mindset, tools, and realistic options.
