Competitive Rifle Shooting Class Overview
This fast-paced 4-hour course reinforces essential skills for effective competitive performance. Students begin with a zero check and platform assessment—out to 300 yards with centerfire and 200 yards with rimfire—before moving into principles that build speed, stability, and precision.
Instruction during this competitive rifle shooting class focuses on creating solid shooting positions, mastering Natural Point of Aim, reducing wobble, and improving recoil management for faster, more accurate impacts and follow-up shots. Students will also learn efficient movement, how to spot impacts, and apply all skills during live-fire drills and mock stages.
Designed for shooters looking to sharpen fundamentals and elevate performance, this course blends focused instruction with practical application.
Being prepared with the right gear is an important part of this course. Rifles can be gas system or bolt, centerfire or rimfire, but all centerfire rifles must be zeroed at 100 yards. Rimfire rifles must be zeroed at 50 – No exceptions. Your optic must have subtensions and an external elevation turret. For this competitive rifle shooting class, you will need ~80 rounds of ammo, a bipod or sandbag, and a ballistic calculator with current DOPE to 300 yards for your rifle setup. We offer rentals and loaner gear, including spotting scopes, tripods, shooting mats, and more.
