Course Overview
NRA Refuse To Be A Victim is a 4-hour personal safety course taught over two convenient evening sessions. It follows the full, certified NRA curriculum and is also offered in a Ladies Only format. The goal is simple: give you confidence by showing that you always have options to protect yourself.
First, the course introduces a survival-focused mindset. You start to look at your home, vehicle, workplace, and daily routines through a safety lens. Instructors share valuable safety information and practical tips that you can apply right away. You also learn about affordable safety devices that support a safer lifestyle.
The NRA Refuse To Be A Victim program focuses on one key idea. The most important step toward your own safety is having a personal safety strategy in place before you need it. This course teaches tips and techniques that help you notice danger early and avoid becoming a victim.
This NRA seminar runs nationwide and is open to men and women of all ages. Today, hundreds of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies use NRA Refuse To Be A Victim in their crime prevention and community policing efforts. Many corporations, schools, and community centers have also adopted the program. In total, more than 100,000 people have benefited from this training.
What You Will Learn

During the course, you begin to build a personal safety plan that fits your real life. First, you learn how to create safer habits at home, in public, and online. Then, instructors guide you through scenario-based discussions so you can think through options before a crisis. You practice time-tested techniques that help you set boundaries, recognize threats, and choose safer responses.
In addition, the program covers a wide range of safety tools. You receive information on locks, lighting, alarms, and other devices that can support your strategy. Although NRA Refuse To Be A Victim does not include shooting or gun handling, it pairs well with any later firearms or self-defense training.
To attend, you only need a learner’s mindset and basic note-taking supplies. The course provides a workbook that follows the NRA curriculum. At the end, you receive a course completion certificate and graduation pin. You leave with more awareness, more options, and a clear commitment to refusing to be a victim.
