DESCRIPTION:SAVE THE DATE! October 5th\, 2025 – Willow Creek Air Park (postponed from August 2nd due to area fires)\n\n\n\nRegistration opens TODAY! Visit AccurateAdvantage.US/Register to claim your shoot spot!\nSpectator’s names can be included in the notes section\, each trigger puller must register individually.\n\n\n\nMore details to come\, but we DO know that this beautiful corner of the world will host drive-up access to the shooting platform and ample parking for competitors and spectators within walking distance of a BBQ tent\, an epic bonfire and large social area where we can safely view the shooting activity.\n\n\n\nShooters are welcome to shoot competitively\, or just for fun\, specifics will be detailed to those on our interest list. Join the info list by emailing info@accurateadvantage.us\nShooting participants will be required to engage a mid-range target prior to their attempt at a mile\, and competitor’s platform time will be limited\, though with rotations\, several opportunities should be available to engage a mile.\n\n\n\nThanks to Scott’s generosity and love of the shooting community\, the revamped Alaska Mile will be a fantastic challenge\, a memorable event\, and we couldn’t ask for a more perfect location! Thank you Scott\, Arctic Ammo and Reloading and Accurate Advantage for making this possible.\n\n\nSee you in October!\n\n\n\nCourse of Fire – \n\nRound count is unlimited\, plan to get a couple of rotations on the mile platform as time allows\nCompetitors start with rifles staged\, bipod and rear bag support in place. Competitors are not allowed to shoulder guns or look through their optic prior to stage start\nAmmo / or magazine must be in hand at time start\, turrets set to zero (dope must be dialed on the clock)\nFrom the start command\, competitors have 4 minutes to dial\, load\, and engage all three targets from large to small. The stage stops when the smallest target is impacted\nAfter 3 rounds have been fired\, each round fired in addition to the first 3 is given a time penalty of 5 seconds per round\nAfter attempting each target large to small\, a shooter may return to any target to gain wind or elevation info. Round count penalties apply. The stage stops when the smallest target is impacted.\nScoring time is captured from the time the last shot is fired

SUMMARY:Intro To Long Range – OPEN
DESCRIPTION:This course facilitates the establishment of the fundamentals most necessary to long-range shooting. As an intro\, we overview the major “pillars” that provide you the most success in your long-range goals. This one-day course is for the competitor\, the hunter\, the hobbyist\, or the curious looking to up their game or quench a curiosity about performance at distance. This is a great prep course for those looking to get into PRS! More info on Alaska PRS can be found HERE! \nTopics covered include safety absolutes\, platform imperatives\, firing process\, basic ballistics\, atmospheric conditions\, calculating and proving DOPE\, understanding repeatable precision and accuracy\, wind call and corrections\, and more. Shooters will work in spotter / shooter teams and will cover an incredible amount of ground in a short amount of time. \nNote that this is not a shooting fundamentals course – students must possess an existing competency in 200 to 300-yard precision / accuracy from the prone or benchrest position. \nPreferred is for the student of this course to have completed either our Intermediate Bolt Rifle 201\, or MidRange Practical Rifle\, but previous training with us is not required. Call with questions or to discuss if this course is a good fit for you! \nTotal Course Length: 8 hours \nPrerequisite Course(s):\nIntermediate Bolt Rifle level of competency\nMid-range Practical Rifle level of competency \nRequired Equipment/Gear: \n\nCenterfire rifle minimum caliber 6mm / .243 – must be sighted in for 100 yards no exceptions\nScope / Optic – variable power recommended\, minimum power recommended for optic top range is 10s\, example\, 2-10x\, better would be 5-25x or greater\, call with questions about optics.\nOptic can be MIL or MOA but must have a reticle with subtensions AND the optic must be equipped with an external turret that can be adjusted incrementally for elevation. Calibrated windage adjustment or subtensions are beneficial\, but not required for this course. Need to borrow an optic?
