SUMMARY:Mid-range Practical Rifle - Day 1 - OPEN
DESCRIPTION:This course seeks to equip you with practical bolt action or carbine rifle skills preparing you to place consistent\, accurate shot groups at distances ranging from 100-600 yards. We utilize time-proven technique and field proven wisdom to assure accurate performance at various yardages in a variety of compromised positions preparing the hunter\, the target shooter\, or the competitor for repetitive accuracy. \nThis course includes two shooting sessions: the first session covers safety foundations\, optics basics\, platform technique\, sight in and velocity check\, basic internal / external ballistics\, accuracy / precision fundamentals\, calibrating “effective accuracy” for your rifle at 100-200 yards\, fast acquisition pressure training\, positional shooting and wraps up with dry fire homework. From sight in\, to the steel challenge finishing up our first day together\, this course will challenge and encourage existing bolt rifle skills taking them to new levels. \nThe second session will prepare you for practical accuracy to 600 yards – up to 1000 yards if your equipment and capability will allow. Reading wind\, effective wind holds\, dialing yardage\, estimating hold over\, utilizing a reticle to range\, measure\, and calculate corrections\, and sending consistent hits continues our training as accuracy improving drills at mixed ranges stretch existing skill.  Positional shooting\, reload drills\, unknown yardage and heart rate challenges add the fun back in as we challenge each other to consistent mid range accuracy. \nTotal Course Length: 16 hours \nPrerequisite Course(s): \n\nBasic Bolt Rifle / Basic Carbine Rifle (or equivalent\, contact us\nIntermediate Bolt Rifle\n\nRequired Equipment/Gear:\nSome of these items are available to rent/borrow; see below. \n\nCenterfire rifle  – must be sighted in for 100 yards\nScope / Optic – preferred minimum power must be 3x or greater\nOptic can be MIL or MOA but must have a reticle with subtensions\, or the optic must be equipped with an external turret that can be adjusted incrementally for elevation. As an intro\, we overview the major “pillars” that provide you the most success in your long-range goals. This is a great prep course for those looking to get into PRS! Get ready for a hunt\, prep for Mid Range Practical Rifle\, Intro To Long Range\, Long Range 101\, or PRS – Whatever your goals might be\, Join us for this informative class!\n\nIn this course we focus more on the trigger puller and the tools\, specifically the optic\, encouraging your platform to support impacts at distance\, and advancing your comfort and knowledge of your tools to better serve you on the range or in the field.\nMost of this course is shot from prone\, benchrest\, or modified prone as we seek to benchmark the precision and accuracy that will support consistency and accuracy.\n\n\n\n– Sight In check – optics optimization\n\n\n– Building a shooter’s platform / Basic accuracy to 300 yards\n– Building and proving DOPE for your rifle 100-300 yards\n\n\n– Intermediate Ballistics – understanding bullet drop\n– Basics of atmospherics\, what most effects your accuracy and precision\n– MIL / MOA dial or hold over for hits at distance\n\n\n– Heart Rate Stress Test and accuracy after effort\n\n\n\n\n\nDoppler Radar and Downrange Cameras assist for this session for increased accuracy and time spent shooting instead of walking to check targets.\n\n\n\nPrerequisite: Basic Bolt Rifle or equivalent experience (training does not have to have been through Accurate Advantage). Please call us to discuss your background  and if you’d be a good fit for this course!\nTotal Course Length: 4 hours \nPrerequisite Course(s): \n\nBasic Bolt Rifle (or equivalent)\n\nRequired Equipment/Gear:\nSome of these items are available to rent/borrow; see below. \n\nBolt action Rifle and magazine(s) if applicable – MUST BE SIGHTED IN AT 100 YARDS no exceptions\nScoped optic\, minimum low power 3\, must have a reticle with subtensions for holds OR an external elevation turret for dialing – call if otherwise equipped\n60 rounds of ammo\nBipod or front sand bag\n\nProvided: \n\nTargets and backers\, reactive steel targets\nBinos or spotting scopes – limited quantities available to borrow\nShooting mats – limited quantities available to borrow\nVariety of rear bags to try\nDOPE building tools – Xero\, Lab Radar\, Calculators\, etc\n\nAvailable: (may incur an additional cost): \n\nAmmo – some common calibers available in both match and standard variations – email for price and availability info.\nRental firearms – Basic Bolt Rifle ($50) Premium Bolt Rifle ($100)\nRental Package Includes: Firearm\, Leupold optic\, magazines (if applicable)\, Bipod\, Shooting mat\, and observation. Rentals are required to shoot provided factory ammo which is invoiced by rounds fired.
