DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION FOR THIS COURSE MUST BE COMPLETED THROUGH BIRCHWOOD SHOOTING PARK – please call them at (907) 688-2809 or log into your club automation member account with BRSP.  \nThis 1 day\, 2-part course will provide you with a strong foundation in safe gun handling and the fundamentals of handgun shooting with a focus towards the competitive shooting sports\, and personal defense. Pistols and Revolvers\, and red dots are welcome! \n9:00am-1:00pm In a warm classroom environment\, you will train with SIRT laser pistols (and revolver equivalent if applicable) learning a shooter’s mindset\, proper stance\, grip\, a safe holster presentation\, sight alignment\, sight picture\, and trigger control. On your own downloaded firearm you will learn how to make your gun safe\, function the action\, dry fire and correct trigger press\, and your unique sight picture. \nAfter lunch\, we’ll meet from 2:00pm-5:00pm on the outdoor range to put our new skills to the test. In a continuation of the morning’s curriculum\, with live fire we’ll learn basic accuracy\, recoil management\, loading and reloading\, basic malfunction clearing\, and advance trigger technique.
