If you’re new to the game\, you will be introduced to common PRS style props and how to shoot from them. The PRS Barricade will also be available\, a consistent prop at every PRS match usually as the tie breaker stage. Limited seats available!\nOur Alaska concealed carry course prepares eligible adults (21 and older) to apply for a state concealed handgun permit. Alaska concealed carry permits include a NICS exemption\, are valid for about five years\, (expiring on your birthday in the 5th year) and are accepted in 38 states. \nThis 12-hour class meets all state requirements for classroom instruction and range qualification. \n\nClassroom: Sunday\, May 3rd 10am-6pm Rabbit Creek Shooting Park\nRange: Tuesday\, May 5th\, 5pm-9pm Rabbit Creek Shooting Park OR Wednesday\, May 6th 5pm-9pm Arctic Indoor Range\, Wasilla\n\nYou will learn essential handgun skills\, safe handling practices\, and the legal concepts that guide responsible self-defense. We cover state defense and protection law\, use-of-force principles\, and the responsibilities that come with carrying a concealed handgun. Scenario-based exercises help you understand how to respond in realistic situations. These drills reinforce safe decision-making and practical skill. \nAt the end of the course\, you will take a written test on firearm safety and defense law. You also complete a shooting proficiency test to show competence with your handgun. After you pass\, you will receive the forms required to submit your permit application to the state. The state will mail your approved permit directly to you. \nPrerequisites: Students must possess a Hunter’s Education Certificate \nStudents are encouraged to bring a firearm of their own\, though rental packages are available. 150 rounds of ammo is required\, as well as an outside the waistband hip holster (available to borrow). We provide targets\, backers\, and eye and ear protection. Additional gear including holsters\, mag pouches and belts is available to borrow. Rentals are $15 and include the handgun (pick from more than a dozen options!) extra magazines or speed loaders\, a hip holster\, belt\, and magazine pouch.

DESCRIPTION:PRS Practice Nights have the goal of boosting proficiency and competence under pressure\, and offer instruction of core concepts most helpful to competitive performance. If you’re new to the game\, you will be introduced to common PRS style props and how to shoot from them. If you’re familiar with the game of PRS\, you’ll have the opportunity to hone your skills and prep for upcoming matches. \nBRSP Members can join free of charge!\nNon-Members: $15 guest pass \nRegister by calling Birchwood: (907) 688-2809 \nEach night will focus on a different core skill and common PRS prop. The PRS Barricade will also be available\, a consistent prop at every PRS match usually as the tie breaker stage. Learn to master it! \n100 yard paper zero targets are available and steel targets are located between 318-330 yards. Rimfires can request mid range targets (keep in mind all rounds must impact the berm. Expect rimfire steel ranges to be >150yds). \nInstruction is provided by seasoned LRSA shooters\, and props from Accurate Advantage.
