DESCRIPTION:Come test your skills and grit in a more frozen environment and help us kick off the PRS season a little early this year! \n9:00am Zero Range Opens\, 9:30 Safety Brief\, 10:00am Match Start \n6 stages will focus on movement and target acquisition in this chilly fun match during a shortened match window starting and ending later in the day to capitalize on daylight hours and what warmth the sun can provide.\nWe’ve been approved for an open bon fire and a hot lunch will be cooked and served mid-match (all stages will halt for a hot lunch). Caribou dogs and all the fixings and several sides are provided\, cook your own to your liking. \nWarming tents will be set up close to the firing line. \nUpper Susitna Shooters Association has graciously promised to maintain the road to the 1000 yard range – most highway vehicles can drive directly to the firing line area\, downrange operations will be by snow machine. \nRound Count: ~60 + sighters \nPacking List: WARM Footwear\, jacket layers\, hats\, thin gloves for shooting\, over mits for in between\, buff or scarf\, fog proof safety glasses\, snot rag – AND all your shooting equipment.\nMatch Fees: Currently under review – expect the standard rate of $40\, but this match includes a hot lunch! \nRegistration is linked HERE\nThe match book will be posted soon! \nSee you tough Alaskans out there!

DESCRIPTION:REGISTER BY CALLING BIRCHWOOD: (907) 688-2809 \nWhat is the Precision Rifle Series? This game seeks to balance action and precision. There are several courses of fire a match night\, with a focus on long-range targets. There will be an all-day Intro to Precision Rifle Series Clinic on Saturday\, October 5th. We will be diving deep into the vocabulary and tricks that are key to being successful on game day. Step-by-step we will be discussing what rifle you should use\, what a dope is\, how to play the game\, etc! Get all your questions answered during this class. \nIf you are participating in the 2024 Winter PRS22 League here at BRSP then this clinic is included! Please talk to BRSP’s event coordinator before signing up. \nThe clinic’s price is $40 per member and $50 per non-member if you are not participating in the league. \n9am-12:30pm – Classroom 1:30-5:00pm is live fire range practice. \nBolt action rifles with scopes equipped with adjustable turrets are strongly recommended\, but not required. Each match has multiple distances\, so without adjustable scopes\, you will have to “hold over” small targets. For this type of shooting\, a First Focal Plane (FFP) scope is ideal. \nPRS22 utilizes an online system called Practiscore for registration\, live match scoring\, and published results. Match booklets will be published typically about a week in advance. The match director reserves the right to make adjustments to the match\, but any updates to target selection and distance will be announced during the safety brief. \nIn addition to signup through BRSP\, you will need to register for an account on https://practiscore.com\nWe are planning on having you register just once in Practiscore\, and importing your information into each match. \nRecommend you “dope” your rifle prior to the first match (recording your elevation adjustments at various yardages). This is a great prep course for those looking to get into PRS!
