DESCRIPTION:PRS Practice Nights have the goal of boosting proficiency and competence under pressure\, and offer instruction of core concepts most helpful to competitive performance. If you’re new to the game\, you will be introduced to common PRS style props and how to shoot from them. If you’re familiar with the game of PRS\, you’ll have the opportunity to hone your skills and prep for upcoming matches. \nBRSP Members can join free of charge!\nNon-Members: $15 guest pass \nRegister by calling Birchwood: (907) 688-2809 \nEach night will focus on a different core skill and common PRS prop. The PRS Barricade will also be available\, a consistent prop at every PRS match usually as the tie breaker stage. Learn to master it! \n100 yard paper zero targets are available and steel targets are located between 318-330 yards. Rimfires can request mid range targets (keep in mind all rounds must impact the berm. Expect rimfire steel ranges to be >150yds). \nInstruction is provided by seasoned LRSA shooters\, and props from Accurate Advantage. DESCRIPTION:Our Alaska concealed carry course prepares eligible adults to apply for a state concealed handgun permit. It is built for students who are 21 or older and already have basic handgun experience. Alaska concealed carry permits include a NICS exemption\, are valid for about five years\, and are accepted in 38 states. \nThis 12-hour class meets all state requirements for classroom instruction and range qualification. \nPlease note: Previous handgun experience is required for this course\, see below. We at Accurate Advantage wish to separate your first shots from the time this course encourages you to focus on the clear mindset\, critical decision making\, and precision skillset required to be a responsible defender. \nYou will learn essential handgun skills\, safe handling practices\, and the legal concepts that guide responsible self-defense. We cover state defense and protection law\, use-of-force principles\, and the responsibilities that come with carrying a concealed handgun. Scenario-based exercises help you understand how to respond in realistic situations. These drills reinforce safe decision-making and practical skill. \nAt the end of the course\, you will take a written test on firearm safety and defense law. You also complete a shooting proficiency test to show competence with your handgun. After you pass\, you will receive the forms required to submit your permit application to the state. The state will mail your approved permit directly to you. \nIf you are new to handguns\, we recommend completing Basic Handgun 101 before taking this Alaska concealed carry course. It gives you the foundation needed to train safely and confidently. \nStudents must bring a personal handgun with at least two magazines\, or a revolver with at least three speed loaders. You must also bring 200 rounds of factory ammunition and a hip or approved concealed holster and a magazine pouch. Please contact us if you’d like to qualify from concealment. This is a great prep course for those looking to get into PRS! Shooters will work in spotter / shooter teams and will cover an incredible amount of ground in a short amount of time. \nNote that this is not a shooting fundamentals course – students must possess an existing competency in 200 to 300-yard precision / accuracy from the prone or benchrest position. \nPreferred is for the student of this course to have completed either our Intermediate Bolt Rifle 201\, or MidRange Practical Rifle\, but previous training with us is not required. The stage stops when the smallest target is impacted\nAfter 3 rounds have been fired\, each round fired in addition to the first 3 is given a time penalty of 5 seconds per round\nAfter attempting each target large to small\, a shooter may return to any target to gain wind or elevation info. You can expect heavy brush with angled slopes and gorgeous views. This time of year Alaska will be reaching the peak of the summer solstice offering nearly 24 hrs of daylight. With temperatures ranging from the mid 20s-60s with snow pack just above our match location. We highly suggest packing layers. \nThe firing line will be on a trail east of the highway\, approximately 2/3 of a mile from the highway. Expect approximately 400’ of elevation gain across the course. Travel from parking to the firing line will be by foot. We will be shooting in a 180-degree field of fire with the no-shoot zone paralleling the highway. Expect targets from 15yd – 1\,000yd along a 3-mile-long firing line. Moderate hiking will be required. \nThe Match Zero Range will be open for a limited amount of time on Saturday (RSOs have their own window)\, if you feel you’ll want more than a few rounds for confirmation\, we strongly suggest you stop along the way to the match to zero – see below for convenient range options. You can expect heavy brush with angled slopes and gorgeous views. This time of year Alaska will be reaching the peak of the summer solstice offering nearly 24 hrs of daylight. With temperatures ranging from the mid 20s-60s with snow pack just above our match location. We highly suggest packing layers. \nThe firing line will be on a trail east of the highway\, approximately 2/3 of a mile from the highway. Expect approximately 400’ of elevation gain across the course. Travel from parking to the firing line will be by foot. We will be shooting in a 180-degree field of fire with the no-shoot zone paralleling the highway. Expect targets from 15yd – 1\,000yd along a 3-mile-long firing line. Moderate hiking will be required. \nThe Match Zero Range will be open for a limited amount of time on Saturday (RSOs have their own window)\, if you feel you’ll want more than a few rounds for confirmation\, we strongly suggest you stop along the way to the match to zero – see below for convenient range options. Power factor will be checked (if necessary) in this same window. \nMatch Parking: There is a pull-off on the left (west) side of the highway just before the Hurricane Gulch Bridge. Just north of the bridge will be a signed lot for parking. Additional parking will be available along the highway. \nCheck-in: A tent will be set up in the parking lot just north of the bridge\, serving as the check-in and banquet location. This will serve as a base of operations for the match. \nRange Officers: We are seeking experienced RO’s. If you’d like the opportunity to compete and work as a stage RO for the match\, please complete the RO Application (TBD). With the  goal of rewarding and securing quality ROs during the 2-day event\, they have been offered the opportunity to complete all stages in a 1-day timeframe for points amongst the other hunters and prize eligibility. ROs will complete the full COF on the competitor Check-in Day. \nSchedule: (Subject To Change!) \nFRIDAY\, June 20th \nRO SHOOT DAY: 0700 – completion. ROs will shoot the entire COF for score. Lunch served at the shooting stages. \nSHOOTER SIGHT IN IS  LIMITED\, Power Factor Check and a short window for sight in will be made available. See below for convenient range options along your travel route to the match. \nSATURDAY\, June 21st \n0700 – 1100: Hunter check in and stage vendor set up. Lunch served on site. \n0900 – 1100: Power Factor and Sight-In Window \n1100: Hunter meeting and safety brief \n1200 –1900: on station\, competing until 12 stages are complete – Dinner served at the shooting stages. \n\nThis is solstice! We have 23 hours of daylight!\n\nSUNDAY\, June 22nd \n0700: Hunters head directly to stages \n0730: Stages open until COF is completed. \n1400: Awards and late lunch in the tent on site \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMatch Fees\n\n\n\n\nSkill Division – $150 (Individual) \nIndividual Competitor – $300 \nTeam Competitors (2) – $600 \nNo refunds will be available\, but if you need to sell your slot just keep us in the loop and we can adjust as needed.
