The first portion of this course guides students through the certified Civilian Safety and Awareness Program from SABRE defense offering a comprehensive overview of pepper spray as a means of defense.
Be Smart – Be Ready – Be Safe. SABRE’s Civilian Safety Awareness Program one-day class can help you learn how identify threatening behaviors and be better prepared to escape dangerous situations safely.
CSAP students will be educated on the following:
- How to discourage dangerous threats
- Ways to identify and avoid potentially dangerous situations
- Protection at a safe distance
- How to use our products effectively and responsibly
- Personal safety skills for smart living
Anyone can benefit from taking a CSAP class – whether you’re a runner, commuter, student, someone who travels for work, retiree, homemaker – this class is for you!
The second portion of this course offers a comprehensive overview of Stun Guns and TASER devices.
Following the recognition and avoidance techniques learned earlier in the class, students are guided through the following:
- What is a stun gun or a TASER and how does it work?
- How to deploy and activate both the stun gun and TASER devices
- How to use either device in accordance with state law and socio-ethical boundaries
- Ways to avoid having your stun gun or TASER device used against you
Live fire demos of both pepper spray (inert) and stun guns or TASERs are offered, and student participation is encouraged. Students will learn verbal defense commands, physical defense techniques and defense platforms, and will gain a comprehensive overview of several less-lethal defense tools. Also introduced are striking devices, light / visual impairment technique, and attention-attracting alarms in addition to other effective less-lethal defense tools.
If you have already chosen a protected lifestyle, layering your defense is crucial – the gun should be your last resort.
